The Plan - 1050 Miles in 14 Days!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for visiting and following.
UK Tour Map

We are cycling Land's End to John O Groats from 17 to 31 August 2013, covering approximately 1050 miles.

You can click on the image to see our route and we will be regularly updating this site to let you know everything that's happening!

We are doing this for charity  so please, please if you can (and we know times are hard!) but if you could give us even just a 1p a mile (£10.50!) that would be fantastic! Simply go to justgiving
to leave your donation.

The Charity we are doing it for is Cancer Research UK the UKs leading Cancer charity.

About Cancer Research UK
They receive no government funding for their life-saving research so every step they make towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated.

Thanks to  supporters they've helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. Their vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

How Much Money Do They Raise?
In 2012/13 supporters helped raise a staggering £460 million.

Every single pound really does count – nine out of ten donations they receive are for £10 or less. Whatever the size of your donation, we promise to spend it wisely. For every £1 donated, over 80p is spent on 'our work to beat cancer'.

How Donations Are Beating Cancer
Did you know that they fund almost half of all cancer research done in the UK, including the life-saving work of over 4,000 world-class scientists, doctors and nurses?

In 2012/13 they spent £351 million on research in institutes, hospitals and universities across the country. This figure includes £13 million for the transfer of their Cambridge Research Institute to the University of Cambridge. They also spent £17 million on  influencing health policies, and on raising awareness of cancer risks and symptoms by providing information to people affected by cancer. And they're winning the fight. Every year they’re discovering and developing newer, kinder treatments and getting closer to cures.

So please help us to raise even more money for them!

Cancer has in some way touched nearly every person in the UK. More than 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer and with our ageing population this statistic is getting worse. Every year Cancer Research UK receive potentially life-saving research proposals that they simply can't afford to fund. That's why they non of us should rest. We all need to up our fundraising efforts – we must make sure that the day when we cure all cancers is sooner, rather than later.

Thank you so much and do give us your comments and encouragement as we are tackling this great feat!

Just over 77 Miles tomorrow so early to bed!

Wish us Luck!
John and Paul
