Day 9 - Scotland

Day 9 (Sunday 25) Scotland

Crossing the border at Grenta
Venturing north of Carlisle, we hit the Scottish border at Gretna. Within 10 minutes of crossing into Scotland, the infamous midges showed their faces and from that point onwards it was time to spray up.

The first few miles were relatively easy, but we had to breathe through gritted teeth so we didn't eat too many bugs.

For lunch we ate at a Weatherspoons in Dumfries and chose from their 'Scottish' menu. It was delicious and went down a treat.

The rest of the journey was a relatively easy one and we actually finished 3 hours earlier than we thought.

A relatively gentle introduction to the Scottish terrain.

Just a reminder...
As this is what we are doing it for... Please don't forget to pledge your donations of support. If you could only give 1p a mile for the 1050 miles we are doing it's £10.50 into the pot we are trying to raise - Help stop Cancer! Simply go to justgiving to leave your donation.
